January 2016, I enrolled for a bachelor's degree of theology at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Zambia with a lot of expectations of preparing for pastoral calling. Sooner into my academic journey, I began to realize the complexity and diversity of preparation I was to undergo. The courses and disciplines, competencies and abilities I was tested on began to make me realize that there was more to theological education than I had initially prejudiced. By the time I was graduating, the seminary formed a balanced doctrine in many issues. I appreciated scholarly integrity and writing prowess. The seminary opened doors for ministry and healthy relationship with others. The seminary has been instrumental in arming me with tools for pastoral ministry and community engagement for ministry life.
The Seminary of course has done a lot for me personally, in the sense that, when it comes to the right interpretation and application of the Bible I am able to do that; without facing any difficulties at all, while putting the context in the right perceptive. Consequently, when it comes to things that concern us as Christians am now able to have an holistic approach to whole things without being judgmental, and all this has come by appreciating people's different Cultures and also appreciating their worldview. Therefore, I really thank God that He gave me such an opportunity to learn under able men and women that have shaped my spiritual life differently. Hence, I will always be grateful and thankful to God for according me such an awesome opportunity to learn more about Him.
